On Sunday, 12th October 2014, His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, conducted the blessing in the Holy Parish Church of St Fotini which is under construction, in Pointe-Noire, for the start of the works to place the roof tiles on the building.

During his brief address the Bishop emphasized the importance of the collective effort to achieve the blessed aim, which is the completion of the Holy Church of the above named Parish Community, and also mentioned his painstaking and persistent effort, which began after his undertaking of his pastoral duties in 2003, in finding the necessary funds in order for the first phase, the completion of the housing of the holy Church.

The Church of St Fotini
was founded in the suburb of Mpaka in Pointe-Noire by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, during his official visit to the Republic of the Congo-Brazzaville in 2007, in the presence of the Hierarch His Eminence Metropolitan Ignatios of Central Africa, now retired Metropolitan of Pentapolis. However, the financial crisis brought a halt in recent years to the progress of the building works.
