The Birth of the God-Man was celebrated in an atmosphere of piety and joy at the Holy Cathedral of St Dimitrios in Pointe-Noire. The Reverend Fr Maximos Oumba, Hierarchal Vicar General of the Holy Diocese of Congo-Brazzaville conducted the Divine Liturgy at midnight, at the end of which "Father Christmas" gave joy by giving gifts which His Grace Bishop Panteleimon had accumulated for all the children of the Parish Communities of the Congo, with the beneficial assistance of the Lebanese Christian youth of the city.
A festive gathering followed for all the faithful in the grounds of the Church, with the sounds of traditional musical instruments.
