The local Church on the Congo, celebrated the sacred memory of St Luke the Doctor, Archbishop of Symferopolis and Crimea, on Sunday 14th June 2015, at the Holy Church of St Fotini which is under construction in Pointe-Noire.
On his arrival at the Church His Grace Panteleimon Bishop of Brazzaville and Gabon, brought a fragment of the sacred relics of St Luke, which is kept at the Holy Diocese, for the faithful to venerate and be blessed. Preaching the homily His Grace spoke of the theological meaning of sanctity as the aim of Christian life and detailed the life of the commemorated Saint, calling on the faithful to imitate the example of his unshakeable faith and his spiritual struggle.
Note that adjacent to the Parish Church is the construction site of the Chapel of St Luke, in which the weather conditions did not allow the conducting of the Divine Liturgy.
