ANNOUNCEMENT

It is announced that on 24^th October 2017, during the morning session of the Holy Synod of the ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa, that it was unanimously decided following a proposal by its Venerable Primate, His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II, to elevate the Holy Diocese of Brazzaville and Gabon to a Holy Metropolis.

Therefore, the new title of this Ecclesiastical Province of the Apostolic and Patriarchal Throne is: "Holy Metropolis of Brazzaville and Gabon" and its Shepherd bears the title: "His Eminence Metropolitan of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, Most Honoured and Exarch of Atlantic Africa”.
