On 20th August 2017, His Grace Panteleimon. Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, conducted the Divine Liturgy at the under-construction Holy Parish Church of St Fotini in the Mpaka suburb of Pointe-Noire and also preached the homily.
After the end of the Eucharistic Gathering e had lengthy meetings with the pious benefactor and hard-working Chairman of the Parish Council, Mr. Michel Armand Massa, Member of the Diocesan Council of the local Church, regarding the final technical details of the electrical and microphonic installations.
Not that the painting of the Church has already been completed. The works remaining are the placement of the tiles, the mounting of the icons on the inner walls and the placement of the bells (all the above are on their way by boat from Greece to the Congo in a container), as well as the construction and placement of a wood carved iconostasis being made by an indigenous master craftsman.
