On Sunday, November 13th, 2022, His Eminence Panteleimon. Metropolitan of Naukratis, Chief Secretary of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, being on official duty in the Egyptian capital, served the Divine Liturgy and preached the divine homily in the centuries-old Holy Patriarchal Monastery of Saint George in Old Cairo.
During his homily to the pilgrims from Greece, Romania and Egypt who prayed together, he referred to the Gospel reading, as well as to the unshakable faith and sacrificial patriarchal ministry of the celebrating Saint John Chrysostom, Archbishop of Constantinople, while he praised the renovation and enhancement of the buildings of the monastery of the same name, the so-called "Rotunda of the East", by the tireless and energetic Abott, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Damaskinos Al Azrai with the support of the other fathers of the
Brotherhood, over the last three years. The Very Reverend Abott replied with great courtesy.
After the end of the Holy Eucharist, there was a rich reception of the faithful in the adjacent hall of the Priory.
