From 6th to 10th June 2013 His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Brazzaville and Gabon, undertook a missionary and pastoral journey to northern Congo, to the areas of the Pygmy and Bantu tribes.
There, the Holy Diocese has the Orthodox Parish Community of St Mark, in the town of Impfondo. With no electricity or running water, His Grace and his entourage for five days approximated the traditional life of our indigenous brothers and sisters, while returning in mind to the first years of Christianity, experiencing the practical difficulties of the spiritual seed in the daily difficult circumstances of these good Africans, who live in total harmony with nature, respecting it as a divine creation and sustainer of life.
At the same time His Grace had the joy of performing the baptism of new Orthodox brothers and sisters in the Ubangi River, the reinforcement of those already baptized through preaching, the conducting of Holy Services and the Divine Liturgy, as well as the donation of tools to the natives, imperative for their survival in the natural environment of the tropical forests.
