By Ruling no: 6597/2014 of the Court of First Instance of Athens, all that Mr. Dimitrios Karamatskos has claimed in a series of letters and postings on the web against His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Brazzaville and Gabon do not reflect reality and “in view of the manner in which they were disseminated, adversely affect his honour and reputation, by unlawfully attacking his personality”. Based on this thinking, “the defendant [Mr. D. Karamatskos] “did not seek the protection of the Orthodox people, as he claims, but to compel the applicant [Mr.Panteleimon Arathymos] to leave the Congo so that … [another priest] could return”.
For these reasons Mr.D.Karamatskos (who is a person totally unknown to His Grace, is forbidden, inter alia, to claim or to disseminate in any manner in future, anything which harms the honour and reputation of the Bishop. Otherwise he is threatened with a financial fine and imprisonment for each violation of this present judgment.
In conclusion, for the acts of threatening, extortion and libel of the Bishop, the Greek Justice system has already dealt with these, following complaints submitted last year.
