Palm Sunday, 23rd April 2016, was celebrated with splendour at the Holy Parish Church of St Irene in Dolisie. His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville, conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the homily. Before the Dismissal, he consecrated three new Readers, Mr. Christian Nsouami, the Parish Catechist, as well as two youths, Constantinos Maniougui and Panagiotis Mabiala, who are two of the youngsters from the “St Efstathios” Orthodox Orphanage.
The traditional songs of the Palms followed, according to the local custom and also the distribution of a copy of the New Testament to each faithful Christian.
A meeting of the Parish Council followed, on current issues and a visit to the Monastery of St John the Theologian which is under construction, after which His Grace returned home by road to the See of the Holy Diocese, in Pointe-Noire.
