PASTORAL VISIT TO BRAZZAVILLE

On 24th and 25th May 2014 His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon visited the Parish Community of the capital of Brazzaville.

On Sunday 25th May he conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the homily at the holy Church of the Resurrection of the Lord. Present at the Eucharistic gathering were the members of the Russian community, who celebrated, according to the calendar of the Russian Church, the memory of Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Enlighteners of the Slavs.

Furthermore, on Saturday 24th May, His Grace collaborated with the Priests of Brazzaville, Protopresbyter Bernard Diafouka and of the city of Impfondo, Father Sergios Mabelemo, as well as with His Excellency Mr. Seraphin Bhalat, Member of the Diocesan Council and Chairman of the Church Committee of Brazzaville.

Also, following an invitation he attended a function of the Russian Cultural Centre of Brazzaville, and the “friendship evening” which was organized by the Embassy of Egypt at the “Memorial Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza” exhibition hall. Within the framework of this second event His Grace the Bishop had the opportunity of lengthy discussions with His Excellency the Ambassador of Egypt to the Republic of the Congo, Mr. Ihab Abo Serie and his wife the Honourable Mrs. Sarah Behairy Serie, to whom he passed on the greetings and love of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, as well as with the His Eminence the Apostolic Nuncio of the Vatican, other Ambassadors, state officials of the Congo and representatives of international humanistic organizations.
