On 31st March 2018, His Eminence Panteleimon, Metropolitan of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, arrived in the city of Dolisie for a 2-day pastoral visit. At first he had a lengthy collaboration with Mr. Jean-Claude Tchilimbou, Director of the Orthodox “Light of the Nations” Primary School, to whom he gave athletic wear, for the needs of the school.

He then went on to the adjacent “St Efstathios” Orthodox Orphanage to visit the children there to whom he gave new tracksuits and blankets, toys, as well as a large professional fridge, donated by the Lebanese Orthodox Christian and modest assistant of the local Church, Mr. Simon Yasbek. He later had a meeting with the staff of this beneficial institution, in which views were exchanged and guidance given.

Following the Sacrament of Confession for many faithful in the Church of St Irene in Dolisie, His Eminence returned to the orphanage to give the children sweets and to explain simply to them the content of each day of Great and Holy week.

The day was completed by the presence of the Metropolitan, in  his capacity as President of the Council of Christian Councils of the Congo, at the Resurrection ceremony of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dolisie, to convey his festal wishes to His Grace Bishop Bienvenu and the faithful.
