PASTORAL VISIT TO THE PARISH COMMUNITY OF LOUINGUI

On Sunday 3rd November 2013, His Grace Panteleimon Bishop of Brazzaville and Gabon, made a Pastoral visit to the Parish Community of the village of Lounigui, in the South of Congo, where he was welcomed with respect and honour, according to local custom.

During his visit, His Grace conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the divine word at the Holy Church of St Spyridon which is under construction and which has not been completed, due to the economic crisis.

A gathering of the faithful followed outside, and His Grace spoke at length regarding the Orthodox faith. The history and current activities of the ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and All Africa and had lengthy discussions with them on issues to do with the progress of the building of the Church, as well as the general development and organization of the parish.

A festive lunch was then hosted by the Parish Community Deacon, Fr. Jean-Marie Magloire, to whom His Grace expressed just praise for the excellent organization of the pastoral visit and for the zeal he shows in doing his duties.

On the afternoon of the same day His Grace returned by car to the capital Brazzaville and then flew to the See of the Diocese, in Pointe-Noire, the second-largest city of the country.
