Through the Mercy of the All-Merciful God and the paternal prayers of His Beatitude the Patriarch of Alexandria, the works at the cathedral of St Dimitrios are progressing.
Once the construction works were completed, as well as the electrical and microphonic installations done, together with the air-conditioning systems, the installation of the metal window frames and the bells in the bell tower, the preparations began (filling and sanding of the walls) for the exterior painting of the Church, which will start as soon as the above works are completed, before the onset of the tropical rain season. At the same time, the roofing of the exterior colonade of the Church with wood has started, and then the synthetic tiles will be placed.
The Church construction was received by the Bishop in the spring of 2013 as one of the three half-finished Churches of the Diocese of Brazzaville. The works began again in 2015 with systematic assistance from the parishioners of the Church and donations coming only from the Congo.
Note that from 2013 up until today one Church was built from scratch and has already been inaugurated and is in operation (Parish of the Precious Forerunner in Impfondo), was in just about complete (St Fotini in Pointe-Noire), the Cathedral is progressing – see photographs – and one is awaiting the restart of the relatively few works to be done before completion (Transfiguration of the Lord in the city of Nkayi).
May the MOST Holy Name of the Triune God be praised!
