SUNDAY OF THE VENERATION OF THE CROSS IN THE CONGO

On the Sunday of the Veneration of the Cross, His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville, conducted the service and preached the homily at the Holy Chapel of St Luke the Doctor, Archbishop of Crimea, which is under construction adjacent to the Holy Parish Church of St. Photini, also under construction, in the suburb of Mpaka in the city of Pointe-Noire.

Following the Eucharistic gathering the Bishop met with the members of the Church Council, and examined at length with them the existing difficulties in the progress of the work.

Unfortunately the, the economic crisis has postponed the development of the building and the little works being undertaken are due to the kind efforts of the poor indigenous parishioners, who are trying with their meager means to prevent the total cessation of building efforts, praying that the Lord will reveal to them those pious brothers and sisters who will come forward to assist in the completion firstly of the Parish Church.
