The sacred memory of St Dimitrios the Great Martyr and Myroblete, Patron Saint of the local Church of the Congo, was celebrated on Monday 26th October 2015, in the temporary Holy Cathedral of the same name in Pointe-Noire.
His Grace Panteleimon Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon conducted the Divine Liturgy together with the Very Reverend Protopresbyter Fr. Maximos Oumba, Vicar General of the Holy Diocese and Parish Priest of the Church and Economos Fr. Laurence Mpinga, Parish Priest of the Holy Church of the Ascension of the Lord, Pointe-Noire. He also preached the homily, speaking of the example of unshakeable faith with the Great Martyr and Saint had.
A procession of the holy icon followed in the grounds in front of the church and the Diocese.
