THE ORTHODOX CHURCH HAS THE BEST SOCIAL INSTITUTION IN CONGO
Dr. Emilienne Raoul, the Minister of Social Affairs of the Republic of the Congo, expressed most favorable views gleaned from her visit to the “St Efstathios” Orphanage of the Holy Diocese of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, in Dolisie, to His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville, during the meeting they had on 17th October 2014 at the Ministry. “Congratulations! The Orthodox Church has the best social institution in the country” said the Minister, who declared her total satisfaction on the cleanliness and the order which is prevalent there, the quality of food and clothing of the children being cared for there, as well as the faithful implementation of the relevant legislation on charitable institutions.
His Grace, who met with the Minister to express the gratitude of the local Church for her visit to the Orphanage, reported in detail the vital financial contribution of the missionary societies of Greece to the establishment and operation of the Orphanage, as well as that of Ecclesiastical Organizations, agents and private persons from Greece and Cyprus, who contribute, in the midst of severe financial crisis, to this philanthropic effort. He also passed on to Dr. Raoul the paternal blessings and gratitude of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, and discussed with her ways of collaborations for the benefit of the children.
Also present at the meeting were the Reverend Fr. Bernard Diafouka, Parish Priest of the Parish Community of the Resurrection of the Lord in Brazzaville, as well as the Director of the Minister’s Private office.
