On the afternoon of Sunday 22nd May 2016, His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon, accompanied by Fr Paul Diafouka, Parish Priest of the Holy Church of St Irene in Dolisie and Director of the “Agios Efstathios” Orthodox Orphanage, attended the Match between football teams of the«Association Sportive Jeunesse Orthodoxe» (Orthodox Youth) and the «Football Club Pelerins», within the league to qualify for the First national Division, Ligue 1.
The Orthodox football team was reestablished in 2014 in Dolisie and is already in the First National Division, ligue II. In that year they were crowned champions of the administrative district of Niari and in 2015 earned 4th place on a national level (ligue II). In the current year they are competing strongly for the cup in the First National Division, ligue I.
Note that the companion of the young athletes in their competition efforts and on their spiritual path and progress is the modest priest, Fr. Paul Diafouka.
