THE RESURRECTION LITURGY IN GABON

On the morning of 22nd April 2014, His Grace Panteleimon, Bishop of Brazzaville and Gabon, arrived in Libreville, the capital of Gabon, accompanied by the Hierarchal Vicar General the Very Reverend Fr. Maximos Oumba, to visit the Orthodox community in the city and to conduct the Resurrection Liturgy.

On the same day he met with Orthodox faithful, and on the next day, April 23rd, he went to the home of the Honorable Consul General of Serbia Mr. Moncilo Radunovic Mombo to exchange festive wishes with him. In the afternoon, in the same place, he conducted the Divine Liturgy, which was attended by locals, Russians, Serbs and Syrian Orthodox Christians, to whom he read the Paschal Encyclical of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa and also preached the homily. He also handed out the 2014 diary of the Holy Diocese and small icons of the Theotokos.

Finally, on 24th April he paid a courtesy visit to His Excellency Mr. Dmitry Kurakov, Ambassador of Russia to Gabon, and at midnight flew out to his destination, the see of the Holy Diocese in Pointe-Noire, Congo.
